1. International School of Beaverton
The International School of Beaverton was founded in 2000 and attracted students from multiple countries. The school is public and has a diverse student body. Its graduation rate is high, as are its test scores and college enrollment rate making it one of the best high schools in Oregon. The school’s curriculum includes many foreign languages, including Spanish, French, and Mandarin Chinese. Students can also take classes in Italian cooking or Japanese culture to learn about other cultures outside their own experience. At the same time, they’re still young enough to connect with them easily.
2. South Eugene High School
South Eugene High School is a public high school in Eugene. It is the second largest high school in Eugene School District 4J and was founded in 1894 as Eugene High School. The school’s mascot is a jaguar, with red, white, and blue colors. The athletic teams compete at the 3A level of the Oregon School Activities Association (O.S.A.A.), which comprises teams from most of Lane County’s larger high schools, including Springfield, South Medford, Central Linn, and West Albany. 3. West Linn High School
Located in West Linn, Oregon, West Linn High School is a public high school within the West Linn-Wilsonville School District. This school’s mascot is the wolf, which you can see on their website and social media platforms. The motto of this school is “Success: You Are Here.” This motto refers to how students should strive for academic success at school and in life. The school practices aspects of its slogan by providing high-value and quality high school education to its students.
Students at West Linn High School enjoy their time playing sports such as football and tennis during P.E.P.E. or playing video games (such as League of Legends) during free periods. 4. Lakeridge High School
Lakeridge High School is a public high school in Lake Oswego. It is the largest high school in Oregon. Lakeridge High School is a member of the O.S.A.A. (Oregon School Activities Association). Students at Lakeridge have many activities, such as academics, athletics, and fine arts. The mascot for Lakeridge is the eagle, whose colors are blue and gold. They are part of the Metro League with schools such as Westview High School and Southridge High School, along with other local schools such as David Douglas High School, Liberty High School & Reynolds High School. The school provides an excellent education relevant to the world’s current realities.
5. Lake Oswego Senior High School
Lake Oswego Senior High School is a public high school in Lake Oswego, Oregon. It is one of two high schools in the Lake Oswego School District (the other being Lakeridge High School). The school was established in 1958. The school has an average enrollment of over 2000 students yearly, with the 2018-19 school year registration at 2,077 students.
The school is ranked top among secondary education institutions on Niche and overall secondary education institutions in Oregon. According to Niche’s rankings, the school ranks top among public high schools in the Portland Metro area. Lake Oswego Senior High School has been given a “B+” rating by U.S.U.S. News & World Report.
6. Corbett School
Corbett School is a public high school in Portland, Oregon. It is a four-year comprehensive high school that provides general education for grades 9 through 12. Students at Corbett receive training in academics, art, music, athletics, business, and technology. The school’s motto is “Achieving Excellence,” which serves as the core of the education and training given to students of the institution. Corbett School was named after Thomas G. Corbett, who served as the president of Portland Public Schools between 1928 and 1931 when he died suddenly while on vacation near Seattle with his family.
7. Wilsonville High School
Wilsonville High School is a high school in Wilsonville, Oregon. The school is a public high school in the Wilsonville School District. It was established in 1979 and serves students living in Wilsonville and neighboring Aloha; it also serves some students from other towns such as Canby, Aurora, and Bethany. The school has some of the best facilities for high school education for students of the institution.
8. Cleveland High School
Cleveland High School is a public high school located in the Portland area. The school has a population of about 1,300 students and offers many different programs, including arts and music. The sports program is also quite strong at Cleveland High School, with teams like football and basketball earning national recognition. The drama program at Cleveland High School is one of the best in all of Oregon; the school even hosts an annual talent show that attracts students from other schools around Portland.
9. Arts and Communication Magnet Academy
Arts and Communication Magnet Academy is a public charter school in Beaverton. It is a part of the Beaverton School District. The school has a student body of about 1,000 students in grades 9-12. Arts and Communication Magnet Academy (ACMA) is an arts magnet high school located on the Washington campus of Portland Community College.
The school was founded by former superintendent Larry Powell who served from 1992 to 2000. Powell created this program after he did not like how arts programs were being run at other schools within their district; he thought there should be better access for students interested in art so that they could develop their talents and become well-rounded individuals right from their high school education. The program offers more than 20 classes, including visual arts, drama, dance, etc. The school also provides broadcast journalism taught by professional journalists.
10. Ashland High School
Ashland High School is a public high school in Ashland. It is one of two high schools in the Ashland School District and one of the best high schools in Oregon, providing quality high school education to students using the best resources available. The school’s current campus was opened in 1970 and has received numerous additions since then.
The latest addition includes a new science wing (opened in 2000), an athletic field house with weight room and locker rooms (2002), fine arts wing (2003), and an expansion to the cafeteria/commons area (2004). The present capacity for this campus is about 1,500 students; however, there are plans to add to the current building or build an entirely new structure in the coming years as enrollment will continue to grow due to continued growth within the community where the school operates.
11. Grant High School
The Grant Union High School District serves the northern portion of Portland and includes three high schools: Grant High School, Roosevelt High School, and Cleveland High School. The district has one middle school for grades 6–8: Jefferson Middle School. The district headquarters are in the former Lincoln Building, built in 1915 as an elementary school. The school’s motto is “Vincit qui se vincit,” which means “He conquers who conquers himself.” The school provides excellent high school education to the students in its district.
12. Lincoln High School
Lincoln High School is a public high school in Portland. It is part of the Portland Public Schools district. Lincoln High School is located in the Goose Hollow neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. The school building was originally built in 1913 as the Lincoln School and later renamed Abraham Lincoln after it became one of three high schools that were built around 1909 to serve the booming population growth from new industries developing along the Willamette River (the other two being Grant High School and Jefferson High School). In recent years it has been recognized as one of Oregon’s best high schools by U.S.U.S. News & World Report because of the sound high school education it provides to high school students.
13. Sherwood High School
Sherwood High School is a public high school in Sherwood, Oregon. It is the only public high school in the Sherwood School District and provides sound high school education to students. The district’s athletic teams are known as the Raiders, competing at the 6A level (the most prominent schools) within Oregon’s 6A/7AA division. The great sporting activities help students to have a great high school experience at the school. The school opened in 1917 on its current campus and has been remodeled multiple times.
The school campus was expanded with the construction of a new building for science labs and classrooms during 1968-1969, which was connected to an older part of the building by way of two bridges over what used to be a creek running through it; this newer section was named “Creekside.” Another significant addition came in 1993 when a row of classrooms was added to Creekside; these new rooms are currently nicknamed “New Wing” by students who attend classes there today. All these buildings help to enhance the delivery of the best education to the students.
14. Crescent Valley High School
Crescent Valley High School is a public high school in Corvallis, Oregon. It is a part of the Corvallis School District. The school’s colors are red and black. Crescent Valley High School is located on Crescent Road in Corvallis, Oregon. It has been around for many years and was built in 1968 to expand the existing Crescent Elementary School by architect Robert E. The school has continued to be a great place of learning for high school students in the district and across Oregon.
In December 2009, voters approved an $11 million bond measure allowing construction on two new buildings: one replacing the gymnasium/cafeteria/classroom building, which had reached its life expectancy; another building containing more classrooms while expanding space available without increasing enrollment numbers beyond capacity limits set by state law, these measures were carried out to improve the quality of education received by students in the school.
15. Sprague High School
Sprague High School is a public high school located in Salem, Oregon. It is the second largest high school in the Salem-Keizer School District, with an enrollment of 2,110 students on average. Sprague opened in 1958 as part of a wave of building construction to accommodate overcrowding at other district schools. The school was named after George T. Sprague, who served as superintendent from 1911 until he died in 1932. Sprague has been ranked high on U.S.U.S. News & World Report’s list of Best High Schools severally and has continued to be among the best high schools in Oregon.
16. St Paul High School
St. Paul High School is a public high school in St Paul, Oregon. It is located at 1465 NW Holladay Street, St Paul, OR 97137. It was founded in 1882 and offered classes for grades 9–12. This school’s mascot is the Cardinal, and the colors are red and black. St. Paul High School has a total enrollment of 597 students from 9th to 12th grade on average. The student-teacher ratio at this school is 19:1, which makes it a meager teacher-student percentage compared to other high schools in Oregon that have an average of 24:1; this students to teacher ratio also helps in the delivery of impactful high school education to students that attend the school.
17. West Salem High School
West Salem High School is a public high school in Salem, Oregon. It is a part of the Salem-Keizer School District. West Salem High School was established in 1857 as Oregon City College and later changed to West Union College when it moved from Oregon City to Woodburn. In 1912 the school moved back to Salem and became known as West Salem Normal School before becoming known as West Salem High School in 1930. The school has seen substantial growth over the years of its existence. It has provided impactful high school education to district students, using the best techniques available to the school.
18. Corvallis High School
Corvallis High School is located in Corvallis, Oregon. It has a student population of 2,062 students and serves grades 9–12. Corvallis High School was founded in 1878 and is now located on the western edge of campus at 2500 NW Monroe Avenue and S.W.S.W. Second Street in Corvallis, Oregon 97333. This school has provided students with quality education since its founding over ten decades ago.
This school’s average graduating class size is around 240 students per year; however, there have been over 300 graduates each year due to increased enrollment in recent years.
